Liturgical Ministries

As members of the university parish of Christ Sun of Justice, you are encouraged to participate in the liturgical life of our community by volunteering for one of the ministries that facilitate our weekend worship. We’ll provide training and mentoring for all these ministries. Liturgical ministries have a small time commitment, but a great impact!

  • Sacristan and Mass Coordinator: If you’re more of a behind-the-scenes person, these roles are for you! These people make sure that everything is set up for Mass, all volunteers are accounted for, the offertory is handled properly, and everything is cleaned up after Mass. Bonus: You get to ring the bell before Mass!
For information, please contact Mary Crangle ([email protected]).
  • Livestreaming Director: Set up, connect, and monitor our livestream broadcast on Sunday mornings. Chose the camera angles, check the audio levels, and make sure we’re live. If you’re more of a techie, this might be the role for you.
For more information, contact Rogerio Rodrigues ([email protected]).
  • Choir: Calling all sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses! Help lead our congregation with great choral music. Our repertoire is widely varied, with emphasis on congregational singing. Beginners are welcome! Rehearsals are Tuesday nights at 7pm.
For information, contact Barbara Musial ([email protected]).
  • Cantor: Up-front and on-mic, cantors are the leaders that help the congregation unite in song. Ideally, cantors should be able to read music, at least a little, and should have strong vocal presence.
For information, contact Barbara Musial ([email protected]).
  • Lector: our liturgical lectors are privileged to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass which can be found at the USCCB web site. Lectors also welcome everyone at the start of Mass and lead the Universal Prayers (previously called the General Intercessions).
For information, contact Fr. Larry ([email protected]).
