Thank you for your support of The Rensselaer Newman Foundation(RNF) Catholic Day of Giving.
The Rensselaer Newman Foundation is the organization that oversees and runs the Chapel + Cultural Center, the Christ Sun of Justice parish, the Catholic Chaplaincy, and pretty much everything that we do to accompany the students and community members (like you) in their faith journey.
The money we raise on Catholic Day of Giving will help to:
- Sustain and upgrade the Chapel + Cultural Center and the Christ Sun of Justice parish
- Grow the Catholic Chaplaincy at RPI
- Offer more spiritual and service opportunities for our students
- Grow and expand the Newman Fellowship and Knights of Columbus
- Nurturethe spiritual life of students
- Support our dynamic campus ministry
Why Give?
I have been an active parishioner at the Christ Sun of Justice (at the Chapel + Cultural Center) since attending RPI class of 2009. In those twenty years, I have had the honor to meet and befriend both students and non-students - making lifelong friends of both. Together we have grown in faith and faced many challenges (including COVID). The Christ Sun of Justice students and non-student parishioners continue to grow and support one another. Your support continues to allow us to support the entire Christ Sun of Justice community.
My Catholic Faith is a very important part of who I am as a person. The Newman Center Ministry provides a vital connection and safe place for young Adults navigating a complex environment. I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of the Newman Ministry and want it to be there for my son and his peers.
The RPI Newman Catholic Fellowship was my home away from home during undergrad. I give to the Rensselaer Newman Foundation to ensure this home continues for today's and tomorrow's students. I believe in giving students opportunities to grow in faith, find fellowship with one another, and serve others.
I would suggest to others to donate to RNF for the same reason I do, to ensure that there is a Catholic presence on the RPI campus, available to the community as needed and to assist with educating the whole student outside of formal classroom instruction.
My heart overflows when I see the Chapel full of RPI students! The parish and RNF have risen above the challenges of the past several years and the Chapel has maintained a wealth of community and spirituality. We are here for each other and we continue to ensure that students have access to all the great services that the C+CC provides. Let’s help keep this mission going!
Newman is an important space for me to connect with friends from different majors and backgrounds. Without this organization, I wouldn’t have met some of the friends I now consider to be some of my closest connections, people I consider to be friends for life. Your contributions allow us to give our RPI students and members a chance to connect over dinners or events around the Troy area!
As a young adult still discovering my religious journey, the Rensselaer Newman Foundation has provided me a place to not only grow in my own faith, but a setting where I am surrounded with the support of peers on similar paths.
Newman, though dinners, service opportunities, and group prayer, connects students with their faith while providing them with a much-needed community in faith during their time at RPI.
Christ Sun of Justice Parish has been my spiritual home for all four years I have been at RPI. I’ve truly enjoyed being able to help at mass, and the great community we have, and I’ve grown in my faith as a result of my involvement. None of that would be possible without support through the Rensselaer Newman Foundation.
“As a new graduate student, I was looking for community- and I found it through the Newman Catholic Fellowship. Being part of Newman reminded me that faith, service, and friendship are just as important as academic success. Supporting the Newman Foundation helps ensure that more students like me can find this same sense of purpose and community at RPI.”
"Newman was a true outlet for me at RPI, providing a welcoming community where I made lasting connections and friendships. Meeting people with the same beliefs helped to challenge me in a meaningful way and deepen my faith."
